Cursor

Add GoBanana to Cursor's mcp.json, sign in once, and let Cursor rules from GoBanana attach to your wild page.

Cursor is a great place to hand off: GoBanana’s Cursor rule attaches on its own when you edit the wild page’s files.

  1. Open the MCP config. Pick where:

    ~/.cursor/mcp.json in your home folder (on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.cursor\mcp.json). Create it if it does not exist.

  2. Add GoBanana and save. A remote server needs only url; no type and no headers:

    mcp.json
    {
    "mcpServers": {
    "gobanana": {
    "url": "https://gobanana.fun/api/mcp"
    }
    }
    }

    If the file already has other servers, add the gobanana entry inside the existing mcpServers object.

  3. Open Customize in the sidebar and find gobanana in the MCP list. It asks you to sign in (OAuth). Your browser opens the GoBanana sign in page; sign in and return to Cursor. Do not add an auth block: GoBanana does not need a fixed client ID.

  4. In the Agent chat, ask: “Check my GoBanana connection.” Cursor asks for approval before it runs an MCP tool by default, then calls ping.

Cursor does not load Claude plugins, so paste the one line from No plugin? once, or save it as a project rule in .cursor/rules/gobanana-flow.mdc:

.cursor/rules/gobanana-flow.mdc
---
description: How to use the GoBanana MCP tools for one wild page
alwaysApply: false
---
When the user asks to explore or go wild on a page: call the GoBanana
get_playbook tool with name gobanana-explore and follow it exactly. When it names
another playbook, call get_playbook for it. Always show source links. Never
download or copy reference images.

Ask “hand this off for Cursor”. Cursor calls export_kit with cursor_rules (Pro), writes .cursor/rules/gobanana-<slug>.mdc with globs set to your page’s files, and the rule attaches whenever you edit them. On Free, use BUILD-PROMPT.md. See Hand off.

Checked on 2026-10-12 against Cursor’s MCP docs (config locations, the mcpServers and url fields, OAuth for remote servers, Customize and MCP Logs). The JSON above was checked against that schema. On this machine, Cursor 3.6.21’s --add-mcp flag reported “Added MCP servers: gobanana” with a temporary profile, but wrote no file we could find there, so it is not given as a setup path. The sign in and whether the board shows inline in Cursor were not tested.
