What is GoBanana?

One wild idea for a page or two, not your product's main design. Mobbin shows what works. GoBanana shows what's next.

GoBanana helps you design one crazy page with your AI agent. It is an MCP server your agent connects to, a moodboard canvas on the web, and a Claude plugin with 9 skills that tell the agent how to use it.

You ask for something like “go wild on our launch page”. Your agent comes back with 3 or 4 sharp directions, each with a full visual spec, a board of linked references for each one, and files your coding tool can build from.

GoBanana works on the pages where a strong idea pays off and nobody needs to finish a task fast:

  • a launch page, a campaign page, a homepage hero
  • onboarding, a splash screen, first run
  • an empty state, a 404, an error page
  • a paywall or an upgrade moment
  • a year in review, a recap, a milestone
  • a settings easter egg

See Where weirdness pays off for the full list per platform.

If you ask for the whole product (“make our banking app weird”), the agent stops and asks one question: “Where should the weirdness go?” It offers the 4 to 6 spots where weirdness pays off on your platform, and you pick 1 to 3.

Directions with a spec

Each direction has a title, a twist and a visual spec: pattern, signature component, type, color, layout, imagery, motion, texture, icons, density, what to steal, what to avoid and why it fits.

A board in two zones

Per direction, an Art direction row (the wild idea as images) above a UI references grid (real screens for your platform). Every tile has a source link and a “steal:” note.

Frankenstein pages

New page variants stacked from parts of the references: the nav from one, the hero from another. Every part keeps its link.

Files for your coding agent

DIRECTION.md, BUILD-PROMPT.md, REVIEW.md, DESIGN.md, Cursor rules, Copilot instructions and AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md sections, all scoped to your pages.

  • It makes no AI calls and generates no images. The server bends briefs with fixed word lists and templates and runs web image searches. All judgment happens in your own agent.
  • It never copies, stores or hosts reference images. It keeps links and titles. Images load in your browser from the site that hosts them.
  • It never scrapes. References come from web image search results only.
  • It never searches Mobbin. If you have your own Mobbin connector, your agent can put shipped screens on the board next to the wild ideas, shown straight from Mobbin and linked to their Mobbin pages. GoBanana’s server never fetches or stores them.

Mobbin shows what works: real, shipped screens. GoBanana shows what’s next: ideas nobody shipped yet, with references for how to get there. They pair well. See Using Mobbin alongside.

  • Designers who want a fast, wide first pass on a page that should stand out, with references they can open and credit.
  • Developers who need a buildable direction for a launch or onboarding page, as files their coding agent reads on its own.
  • Founders and small teams with no time for a moodboard week.

GoBanana is in beta, version 0.1. During the beta every signed in account gets Pro limits and nothing is charged. The server runs at gobanana.fun until a custom domain is chosen.
